 Local Information

Armathwaite, village is 11 miles north of Penrith and only 9 miles to Carlisle, nestled by the river Eden – a beautiful village of trees, peace and tranquillity.
Armathwaite is very proud to own a station on Britain’s most scenic railway route, the Carlisle/Settle line. There are now six trains each way daily calling at Armathwaite station, which is a great relief to commuters and shoppers. Fortunately the village shop and the post office continue to flourish, the school remains open and there are two old inns taking visitors and serving meals.
